YesJulz's Comment On OutKast's Comparison To EarthGang Has Black Twitter At Her Neck

The remark appeared to take a shot at Big Boi, and Black Twitter was not having it.

Once again, social media influencer YesJulz has found herself in the crosshairs of Black Twitter.

This time, it’s over a rather off-putting comment she made with regard to Dreamville's EarthGang and OutKast, but more narrowly, one-half of the iconic Atlanta duo Big Boi.

YesJulz has kept a rather low profile since Black Twitter collectively obliterated her after she tried her hand at a war of words with Karen Civil and media personality Scottie Beam. Now she's sunken into even deeper hot water with an opinion she apparently assumed was creditable with regard to the two Atlanta hip-hop groups.

  • Popping up on the social media platform Tuesday (Sept. 10), the 26-year-old drew the ire of many hip-hop heads after she compared EarthGang, who just released their major label debut album, Mirrorland, to OutKast in a manner that appeared to shade Big Boi. "Earthgang is like the OutKast of this generation only with two Andre’s," she tweeted. "I’m so here for it. & don’t f*ckin' @ me."

  • Her commentary set off a chain reaction on Black Twitter, which she likely already had estimated given her demand for no one to debate her on it. Never ones to take instruction from the likes of a YesJulz, Black Twitter wasted no time hitting the cancel button on her again.

  • 'You’re a culture vulture to highest level. Leave our culture alone,' one person commented under the post.

"1. You have no clue what you speak and they can’t be OutKast with Two Andre’s because that wouldn’t be outkast. Lastly, how dare you disrespect @BigBoi. You’re a culture vulture to highest level. Leave our culture alone."

  • YesJulz attempted to defend her stance in a follow-up comment.

“Where was the disrespect?” she challenged. “I love OutKast. I love [Big Boi]. I grew up on them. I love Earthgang. I simply feel that they both favor Andre a bit more stylistically. I was simply giving a complement. No need to turn this into a negative thing.”

  • The rest of the damage was already done as Black Twitter refused to buy what she had to say, reminding Julz once again that she is merely a guest in hip-hop who has long overstayed her welcome.

  • To her dismay, Black Twitter dug up another gem during the whole fiasco, too...

From the receipts, it appears Julz might have copied someone else's words and rephrased them.

Another Twitter user unearthed a past tweet published four days before Julz's on September 6 that was written with nearly verbatim. The tweet read, "Earthgang is like Outkast if both members were Andre."

  • EarthGang used the moment to salute the path that OutKast and all the other Atlanta greats that came before them carved in hip-hop.

“We’re blessed to stand on the shoulders of greatness and be a light for a NEW generation," the rap duo posted on Instagram alongside a photo collage of candid moments they've shared with Killer MikeBig Boi, Andre 3000, Cee Lo Green and Big Gipp.

"To be compared to legends is a humbling honor. But know that we’re blazing our OWN path for the next ones out of Atlanta. There’s only one #Outkast there’s only one #GoodieMob and there’s only #DungeonFamily. AND #WeAreEARTHGANG BABYYYYYYY. We’re just getting started."

  • Meanwhile, Black Twitter is still letting YesJulz have it.

Comedian Michael Rapaport aptly summed up how the internet feels about Julz' opinion.

"Chicken Heads Be Clucking," he tweeted.
