Straight Outta Compton added more talent to its cast this week. Aldis Hodge and Neil Brown Jr. have joined the NWA biopic as MC Ren and DJ Yella, respectively. Ren and Yella were both early members of the groundbreaking rap group.
Hodge and Brown will star alongside O'Shea Jackson, Jr. (who will play his real-life father Ice Cube), Corey Hawkins (Dr. Dre) and Jason Mitchell (Eazy-E) in the film directed by F. Gary Gray and produced by Cube, Dre, Will Packer and Eazy-E's widow Tomica Woods-Wright.
Hodge has previously starred in films like A Good Day to Die Hard and the Coen Brothers' Ladykillers, while Brown can been seen in a recurring role in the television series Suits.
Straight Outta Compton will hit theaters on August 14, 2015, Universal Pictures announced.
