Oh Word? M.I.A. Is Making Some Big Claims About Rihanna and Beyoncé

Hope she's ready for war.

As exemplified throughout the entire duration of her career, M.I.A. is no stranger to receiving all sorts of backlash for speaking her mind or for sticking by an unpopular opinion with conviction.

However, a recent statement the recording artist made has fans in both the #BeyHive and #TheNavy alike clenching their fists. In a new interview, M.I.A. is claiming that both Rihanna and Beyoncé have "stolen" her sound.

During the interview, she also throws shade on Madonna's name, saying that she wishes the three female artists respected where they get their ideas from and that she has disgustingly been used as "a template for pop stars to create more content" throughout her entire career.

"I’m fine with Madonna or Beyoncé or Rihanna being ‘inspired’ by my work, but I would like them to then go, ‘Yeah, this immigrant who came out of nowhere influenced us, so maybe not all of them are f**king terrible,'" M.I.A. said. "They don’t even think like that. They go, ‘Yeah, maybe me stealing the stuff says she’s all right. She should be thankful we’re stealing it.'"

She then took it to another level, specifically coming for Queen Bey.

"But sometimes you just think, ‘F**k, I have to pay some bills,’ you know?" the Sri Lankan artist continued. "Beyoncé comes from the school of Michael Jackson-ness. Where the family built an entire world to support you. From when you were a child. I never had that luxury."

Naturally, it didn't take long for the #BeyHive to respond, saying that M.I.A. simply isn't as famous as Beyoncé because "she doesn't have talent" and not because of her humble beginnings.
