Light Bright: Madame Tussauds Comes Under Fire For White-Washed Meghan Markle Figure
With celebrity wax figures, the unveiling can be a complete hit or miss.
Don’t believe us?
Let us remind you of the “WTH”-moment we all experienced when the famed wax museum, Madame Tussauds, revealed the infamous Beyoncé wax figure that was clearly lighter than King Bey.
As you can expect, the BeyHive quickly swarmed in letting the London museum know they missed the mark.
Keeping this face in mind, we were quite nervous to see the grand reveal on Wednesday (May 9) of Prince Harry’s bride-to-be, Meghan Markle.
Keep scrolling to see the $204,000 faux version of the actress dressed in a forest-green sleeveless P.A.R.O.S.H. shift dress, then we’ll talk.
With her May 19 wedding only days away, the look-a-like figure was displayed next to her future husband, who’s statue was recently updated with a new beard since its original creation in 2014.
While many thought the company did a great job capturing "Meghan's infectious and warm personality," others were not feeling to look.
Here's how people took to Twitter to share their thoughts about the wax figure:
Others were not happy with the figure even suggesting it was a recycled statue of UK singer Cheryl Cole:
As you can see, it got real!
One thing's for sure, it's not as bad as the Bey figure. Just saying.
Whether you like it or not, the Markle exhibit at Madame Tussauds opens May 18 and the tickets start at $39. And if you are a visitor named Meghan or Harry, you get in free.
Will you be showing up?
