Tameka Foster Revealed That An Interview With Wendy Williams Derailed Her Career

During an episode of “The Breakfast Club,” the former celebrity stylist claimed that the interaction with the “Queen of Media" caused her life and career to spiral downward.

Tameka Foster claimed that her career took a turn for the worse after a contentious interview with Wendy Williams.

During an episode of The Breakfast Club on Thursday (April 11), Foster detailed the obstacles she’s overcome, such as two divorces including one from Usher, the death of a son, and the passing of her mother. She spoke about her appearance on the radio with Williams and Charlamagne Tha God, who was her co-host at the time on WBLS.

“I think it started with you and Wendy, but we will get back to that,” Foster said to Charlamagne when asked when she began encountering challenges.

“Me and Wendy?” Charlemagne asked.

“You were in the studio when I did my radio interview with her,” Foster said. “That was the first negative press run and it just spiraled from there.”

“What was said during the interview?” DJ Envy asked.

“I mean it was part of me getting kicked out of the studio,” Foster answered.

She noted that she received an invitation from Williams because she was known as a celebrity stylist to the stars. Foster thought the exposure would help her career.

Tameka Foster Opens Up On Frightening Medical Emergency

“Well let me explain, I met her in the Gansevoort hotel. One of my PR friends asked if ‘I ever met Wendy Williams,’ but I'm from California I had not,” Foster recalled. “I heard of her, but I didn’t know that she was like a shock jock Howard Stern, black ya know.”

“I was thinking yesssss, this is going to be great for my career. Imma be on New York radio and talk about my job as a stylist,” Foster continued.

“Yea, you didn’t do your homework then,” DJ Envy joked.

“Yea I didn’t know, I just thought it was a big opportunity,” Foster said.

Foster said that the infamous interview with Wendy sparked such a firestorm that other media outlets began to portray her in a negative light and that affected her marriage with Usher.

“She’s a man, she looks like a man, she's this, she's a guy, she’s old ya know,” Foster said. “I didn’t have a chance.”

Along with the incident with Williams, Foster recently shared that she experienced a traumatic event in 2009 when she traveled to Brazill to get liposuction on her stomach and suffered a medical emergency while under anesthesia.

The encounter made her decide to go the natural route for physical improvements.

"I still care about looks and vanity, but I plan to do it the natural way. That's all. Totally,” she explained. “It made me be a little less lazy about getting to my goals, and I just changed my diet and now I do intermittent fasting and things like that.
