Watch the Trailer for 13-Episode BET Africa Drama ‘Pound 4 Pound’

‘Pound 4 Pound,’ which focuses on African women in boxing, premieres on February 26.

In the first season of upcoming BET Africa drama “Pound 4 Pound,” a group of women will be “punching for survival.”

The thirteen-part drama series, produced by BET Africa, will make its debut on BET on Wednesday, February 26, at 10 PM ET. Weekly episodes of the series will continue until its conclusion on Wednesday, May 21. 

Executive produced by Kagiso Modupe and Rashaka Muofhe for Bakwena Productions, along with Herbert Hadebe for BET, “Pound 4 Pound” stars actresses Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa, Mduduzi Mabaso, Gabisile Tshabalala and more.

“Lindiwe Mkhwanazi must navigate sabotage within her own organization while leading a team of women boxers to a major tournament,” the logline teases.

The trailer showcases the women intensely training for the Africa Unite Boxing Championship, with one character urging, “Show them how strong you are!” Mlotshwa, portraying Lindiwe Mkhwanazi, delivers a powerful line: “Sometimes, you just have to be thrown into the deep end.”
