Lawrence Taylor Defends Cowboys Giving Greg Hardy a Second Chance

Retired, troubled Hall of Famer salutes Dallas decision despite domestic violence incident.

From one highly-controversial figure to another.

In an interview with the New York Daily News, Pro Football Hall of Famer and no stranger to controversy himself, Lawrence Taylor, defended the Dallas Cowboys' decision to grant Greg Hardy a second chance following his domestic violence charges and disturbing images of his bruised ex-girlfriend that have surfaced.

"I like that," Taylor said of the Cowboys' choice. "I think they needed to give him another chance because it's not clear what happened. It's not really 100% clear what happened. So listen, I think they need to give him a chance.

"I think he is going to make the best of that second chance because I'll tell you what, he could have been screwed," LT added. "A lot of people have been screwed in this league. But he got a do-over, and you got to do the best you can. You got to make the best you can with that do-over."

Nearly two weeks ago, Deadspin released troubling images of Hardy's battered ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder, stemming from his 2014 domestic violence arrest. After the Cowboys reiterated that they stand by their defensive end, Hardy stated his innocence, while also trolling members of the media via Twitter.
Taylor, himself, had a laundry list of off-field issues during his palying days and since. He's been arrested nine times since retiring in 1993. In 2011, Taylor pled guilty to patronizing a prostitute and sexual misconduct.
