Mychal Thompson, the LA Laker and current NBA superstar Klay Thompson’s dad, is giving Megan Thee Stallion a major family stamp of approval. 

Mychal was caught singing Chef Stallion’s praises over the weekend after having a plate of her food. When asked what dish she makes best, Thompson shouted out her barbecue baked beans and declared, “Best I ever had in my life.” 

The 71-year-old didn’t stop there. Mychal, clearly impressed, told reporters, “Nobody could ever cook as good as my mother, but man, Megan is a chef.” He even teased the couple’s future with a laugh — “I don't know, it's up to them, gotta ask them that” — after being asked whether Klay would pop the question. Mychal added that Megan is a “very lovely lady,” making it obvious he’s rooting for his son. 

This public praise from poppa Thompson is amongst many similar praises for the hot couple. Megan and Klay went public with their relationship last year and have been photographed on dates — including a now-viral indoor mini-golf outing earlier this month. Fans have already watched the star athlete gush about Megan’s home cooking: in previous clips she’s prepared dishes like catfish with spaghetti and red sauce — a combo Klay reportedly called his “favorite meal.” Those clips helped earn Megan the playful nickname “Megan thee Chef” among fans online. 

As always, Megan has her fans hungry and amused by her love for Klay. Social feeds lit up with memes, supportive replies, and a few jokes about Klay’s future waistline after being served weekly by Chef Megan. 

Between the cozy public outings, a boat named after Meg, and now a full thumbs-up from the Thompson patriarch, Megan and Klay’s relationship is getting not just headlines, but an affectionate family endorsement. If Mychal’s comments are any indication, the barbecue baked beans — and maybe marriage talk — are both very much on the table.
