Suge Knight Hit-and-Run Victim: There Was No Gun

Manager for Cle "Bone" Sloan says the rap mogul was the only one with a weapon.

The mystery item taken off an injured Cle "Bone" Sloan during the fatal hit-and-run for which Suge Knight now faces murder and attempted murder charges was a walkie talkie, says the surviving victim via his manager.

Video footage from the parking lot of Tam's Burgers in Compton, where the incident took place, shows a man identified as Sloan approach a red truck and get into an apparent altercation with the driver. The driver backs up and clips Sloan, knocking him down, and then speeds forward hitting Sloan a second time, and running over a second man identified as Terry Cater, who later died at a local hospital.

“A hundred percent [the video] it proved Suge Knight was attacked,” Suge's new attorney, Matt Fletcher told CBS.

The pivotal point now is what happened after the driver pulls off. While Sloan lay injured in the street, another person rolls him over, takes something from him, and puts it in his waistband.

Suge says there was a gun.

Sloan's manager, however, told TMZ that his client did not have a firearm, and the site's law enforcement sources are backing up that claim, saying that they've determined there was no gun, but offering no explanation for how they came to that conclusion.

An attorney for Carter's family told CNN that Sloan started the fight. "The video makes clear that Mr. Carter's tragic death was caused by unnecessary acts of violence initiated by Cle Sloan attacking Mr. Knight," Gary A. Dordick said.

Both Dordick and Sloan's manager believe Suge chose to "retaliate using his motor vehicle as a deadly weapon rather [than] simply driving off to a place of safety."
