Wale Storms Announcer's Booth After Drake Diss

MMG rapper takes offense to an off-the-cuff remark at NBA game.

What's with all the drama between rappers and the NBA these days?

Last night’s Washington Wizards-Toronto Raptors game got a little heated when Wale confronted Raptors announcer Matt Devlin after Devlin took some sarcastic jabs at the rapper. "Supposedly this fan is a well-known local rapper — Wal-Aye. I'm sure somebody on Twitter can tell me exactly if they've ever heard of Wale. He's not Drake, that's for sure,” joked Devlin on air.

The comments came after Wale was playfully teasing the Raptors' new forward Rudy Gay. The Maybach Music MC fired back tweeting "@MattDevlinRaps watch ur mouth" and then was caught on video charging toward the announcer booth clearly angry.

However, a Raptors rep tells TMZ that the announcer’s comments were "meant to be making fun of himself for not knowing who Wale is, especially a Grammy-nominated artist with more than 2 million Twitter followers."

And adds, "We have reached out to Wale’s management group to see if we can turn this into a positive. We’d like to have him join Matt on the broadcast when we return to Washington at the end of March."

No word from Wale on whether he'll take the Raptors up on their offer.
