Real-Life 'Blind Side' Subject Going to the Super Bowl
The emergence of Cam Newton as arguably the best player in the NFL is dominating plenty of headlines entering Super Bowl 50 on February 7.
But one of the players protecting Newton on the offensive line has a pretty unique storyline as well.
Carolina Panthers left tackle Michael Oher is the real-life subject of the 2009 film The Blind Side, starring Sandra Bullock. The critically acclaimed movie tells Oher's true story of striving for his football dream and being adopted by a white family, the Tuohys.
When Oher and the Panthers flattened the Arizona Cardinals, 49-15, in the NFC title game Sunday night, the 6-foot-4, 315-pound 29-year-old celebrated on the field with his adopted family, Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy, as captured by Oher's Instagram account.
What's better is the Tuohys can continue to cheer Oher on, as he chases his second Super Bowl ring, when the Panthers face the Denver Broncos next Sunday in San Francisco.
Oher won a Super Bowl ring in 2013 with the Baltimore Ravens.
