Megan Thee Stallion Honored As Mental Health Champion Of The Year By The Trevor Project

The rapper’s transparency about healing and her continued work to provide mental health resources for fans earned her one of the organization’s highest honors.

For Megan Thee Stallion, healing has always been part of the hustle. Now, her transparency and advocacy for mental health are being recognized, as she’s been named Mental Health Champion of the Year by The Trevor Project.

"My goal has always been to use my platform to help break stigmas around mental health and provide resources for those seeking safe spaces to have honest and heartfelt conversations," the ‘Hot Girl’ said in a statement.

 "Mental health impacts all of us, so it’s important to lead with love and empathy. I’m grateful for organizations like The Trevor Project that are committed to spreading awareness and supporting our LGBTQ+ youth in powerful ways."

The non-profit organization serves as “the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit organization for LGBTQ+ young people. We provide information & support to LGBTQ+ young people 24/7, all year round.”

In 2022, Megan Thee Stallion launched Bad B*tches Have Bad Days Too, a digital safe space designed to help her fans prioritize their mental health. 

The site provides direct links to free therapy resources, crisis hotlines, and organizations that prioritize the Black community, including therapy networks specifically for Black women and Black men. It’s a one-stop hub for healing, self-awareness, and the kind of care Megan has consistently encouraged her fans to embrace.

In her documentary,  “Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words,” the Houston native opened up about being anxious about her well-being after the shooting incident involving Tory Lanez, BET.com reported.

She admits in the film she would’ve rather “not live through this” than “live with this.”

After dealing with a break-in while performing on “Saturday Night Live” in 2022, the anime lover decided to clear her schedule and visit a mental health retreat, revisiting her trauma with a therapist and leaving with a clearer mind.
