Jonathan Majors' Ex-Girlfriend's Defamation Lawsuit Dismissed
Actor Jonathan Majors has reached a legal resolution with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, after she dismissed her federal lawsuit against him.
Jabbari had previously accused Majors of assault and defamation, stemming from his December 2023 conviction on two misdemeanor assault charges. In March 2024, she filed a defamation lawsuit, citing Majors' public denial of the allegations during an interview on Good Morning America, in which he stated, “I never laid [my] hands on a woman.”
However, on Thursday (Nov. 21), attorneys for both parties filed a joint notice confirming that all claims were dismissed with prejudice. This legal term indicates that the case has been resolved and cannot be reopened, effectively closing it permanently.
This development is the latest in a series of legal and professional challenges for Majors. Once poised to lead Marvel’s “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” his career experienced considerable setbacks after his March 2023 arrest following an alleged altercation with Jabbari. The incident led to his removal from high-profile projects, including his role in the Marvel franchise.
In the criminal case related to the March 2023 arrest, Majors was ultimately acquitted of misdemeanor assault in the third degree, which involves intent to cause physical injury, and misdemeanor aggravated harassment in the second degree. However, he was sentenced to one year of counseling after being found guilty of domestic assault.
Throughout the legal proceedings, Majors has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
