This is rich.

Mary J. Blige hit the top of the R&B charts with the release of her Strength of a Woman album. Featuring singles like “Thick of It,” MJB’s 13th studio album reflected her transition from happily married to divorced from her husband of 12 years, Kendu Isaacs.

Noting the success of her album and the role their split played in it’s notoriety, Isaacs, is reportedly requesting an increase in spousal support because of it. According to, Isaacs claims he’s been unable to find employment because of his ex’s discussion of their split publicly.

Blaming the success of songs like, “Love Yourself,” and “Set Me Free,” two songs he allegedly referred to as “divorce songs,” Isaacs suggests that the songstress now has $275,475 per month available for support payments and should increase his monthly spousal support payments to $65,000.

When the couple initially filed for divorce in 2016, Isaacs initially requested $100,000 per month, but was only granted $30,000 in monthly spousal support.
