Beyoncé, Jay Z Surprise Troops With On the Run Screening

The Carters made New Year's Eve extra special for soldiers overseas.

Beyoncé and Jay Z made New Year's Eve extra special for thousands of U.S. troops overseas. The superstar couple treated soldiers stationed in Kuwait and Afghanistan to a screening of their HBO On the Run tour special.

The surprise played just as 2015 rang in, with an added bonus from Mrs. Carter. “I just want to say a big thank you to our troops for everything you do to keep our country safe,” the singer said in a video message. “We all sleep better at night knowing that you guys are protecting us, and we're filled with gratitude."

Although the Carters weren’t able to physically be there, their good deed was much appreciated. “Watching On the Run concert made me forget I was in Afghanistan for the holidays… thanks,” said SSGT Ferguson in a USO press release.
