Update: Vanilla Ice Released on Bond After Home Burglary Arrest

"Ice Ice Baby" rapper allegedly caught stealing furniture from a vacant Florida house.

UPDATE: Vanilla Ice was released on bond after being arrested on home burglary and grand theft charges. 

"This is blown out of proportion and it's a shame good news doesn’t travel this fast," he told local CBS reporters outside the courthouse.

"It's a misunderstanding," his friend Wes Kain added. "Rob is inquiring about the property and is seeking out to purchase the property and some communication wires got crossed. It will all be worked out as soon as lawyers get a hold of it."

Vanilla Ice was arrested for the alleged burglary of an abandoned residence in Florida, TMZ reports.

The vacant home was located near another residence the former rapper was renovating for his show, The Vanilla Ice Project.

Police determined that Ice, aka Rob Van Winkle, was involved in removing furniture from the property, which is falling into foreclosure. The items were found under his "care and control" and voluntarily returned to the home's owner.

Ice was reportedly cooperative with authorities and provided a written statement. He was arrested and charged with burglary residence and grand theft, partly on the strength of witness statements and evidence from the scene. 

The one-hit wonder is best known for the ‘90s single “Ice Ice Baby” and a short-lived music career that included an infamous run-in with Suge Knight
