Sheree Zampino Says She ‘Froze’ When Ex Will Smith Slapped Chris Rock

“The first thing you do is you try to make sense of it in the [moment],” she said in an interview with ‘Us Weekly.’

Sheree Zampino is responding to the viral 2022 Oscars slap involving her ex-husband Will Smith and Chris Rock and is hoping that the two can one day have reconciliation.

In an interview with Us Weekly on Monday (Aug. 8), the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said that “it was one of those moments where I froze.”

Adding, “The first thing you do is you try to make sense of it in the [moment]. And when it doesn’t make sense in the moment … we didn’t even really have time. I didn’t even deal with it.”

The 54-year-old said that she still “couldn’t make sense of it” but hopes that the Oscar winner and the award-winning comedian will publicly reunite.

“When Chris and Will can come together and heal in a public way and extend forgiveness to one another?” she shared. “Do you know how many people that’s gonna help and set free? So, I see the opportunity in it.”

She took to her Instagram page back in March 2022 to send her congratulatory remarks to the King Richard actor following his Academy Award win, amid the slap.

“Congratulations @willsmith – you are more than deserving!” she captioned her post.

“Epic Night! Congratulations again - when 1 wins we all win! #family1st,” she captioned another post.

Zampino and Smith were married from 1992 to 1995. The former couple shares a 29-year-old son, Trey.
