Muni Long is no stranger to making a major impact. Her music hits the airwaves running every time, offering her viral hit after hit! And now, Long is making an impact with the kids as she took to Brooklyn to surprise AF Brownsville Elementary and Middle School students with an appearance. The adorable kids were stunned as her music blared on the loudspeakers and she entered the cafeteria.

As her famous lyrics rang through the speakers, the kids screamed along in unison, “Twin! Where have you been?!” they proceeded to scream every single word, and some even hopped up to hug the superstar.

The teacher who made the surprise happen for the kids is a friend of Long’s. He said, “She, to me, is an example of, if you work hard at your dreams, you believe in yourself, and when everybody was telling my dog to give up, she never gave up. She listened to her teachers, especially her music teacher–shoutout to Ms. Johnson!”

And then Muni took the floor to inspire the excited youth. She said, “I see a lot of stuff on social media about how kids are not paying attention to their teachers, being disrespectful…It’s very important that you guys get this education because the world is crazy. When you grow up, there’s a lot of things you’ll need skills to overcome. I want you to look at your teachers as people who can guide you, answer your questions. You need to understand your history so you know where you come from and where you can go. Please respect your teachers. When they ask you to do something, do it. If you’re having a problem, ask for help. That is very important.” She urged them, “Can you do that?” 

And she was met with a resounding, “Yes!”

To which she replied, “Don’t make me have to come back in here! Y’all made my day!”
