Two Teens Charged in Murder of TikTok Influencer Chrystofer Whyte at Long Branch Beach

Authorities say the 18-year-old influencer was fatally shot on June 12 at the same beach where he filmed and posted his last TikTok videos just hours earlier.

Two individuals have been charged in connection with the death of an influencer who was shot on the beach where he filmed his last video just hours before, according to reports

On June 12, Chrystofer A. Whyte was shot and killed on a beach in Long Branch, New Jersey. He had more than 100,000 followers on TikTok, where he went by the moniker @hi.imchrys. He was 18 years old.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office sent out a news release saying that an underage teen and an 18-year-old man were both charged with being involved in the crime.

 

The juvenile is facing the following charges: "murder, conspiracy to commit unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a prohibited weapon, and hindering."

Because he is a minor, his name is not being made public, and according to reports,he  is currently in a juvenile jail camp.

Dwayne Exilus, who is 18 years old, is also charged with "second-degree conspiracy to commit unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, third-degree hindering, and one count of fourth-degree possession of a prohibited weapon."

The Long Branch Police Department declared Whyte dead at the scene after emergency personnel got to the beach at Pier Village about 8:58 p.m. He was shot once.

Two more videos were posted to Whyte’s TikTok account on the day he died.

The first one showed him lying back in a chair, captioned "Stay away from people who only talk to you when they need you."

In the last upload, Whyte was seen lying back in a striped blue beach chair and moved the camera up to show the mass of beachgoers behind him. In the caption, he wrote "#longbranch."
