Watch: Ferguson Commemorated Michael Brown's Death in a Powerful Way

It's been two years since the Missouri teen was killed by police.

In the two years since 18-year-old Michael Brown was gunned down by Ferguson police, America has seen police violence directed against America's Black community put on the national stage. Sadly, the national attention has not stopped the violence. While communities across the country and the Black Lives Matter movement continue to fight for those who we have lost, and those who are still living, Brown's community of Ferguson, Missouri, continues to rebuild from his death and the subsequent protests, controversy and violence that has followed.

Tuesday marks the two-year anniversary of Brown's tragic murder and the community of Ferguson came together for a moment of silence and reflection on the very street that the young man lost his life.

A young woman whose first name is Cyrina attended and recorded a video of the vigil that TheShadeRoom reported included a four-and-a-half minute moment of silence, symbolizing the four-and-a-half minutes that Brown's body was left laying on the ground after he was fatally shot.

Cyrina captured those in attendance chanting "Black Lives Matter," with some raising their fists in defiance to the continued police violence that plagues America's Black communities.

Many have taken to Twitter to honor Brown's memory in their own way.

Remembering Brown, and the many others we have lost since his death, is crucial to making sure that police killings like these do not continue to occur in the future.

While Brown's death did indeed help bring the unlawful police violence targeting the Black community to the forefront, in a better world, his death and the death of countless other Black men and women at the hands of police would have never occurred at all.
