Killer Mike's Twitter Mentions Are In Absolute Shambles After He Decided To Slam Anti-Gun Protesters On NRA TV

Today of all days.

Killer Mike made an appearance on NRA TV and it’s not going over well with Twitter.

  • The interview, during which the Run The Jewels rapper calls anti-gun protesters “not woke,” was released on Thursday, but is just now catching the ire of social media.

“I told my kids on the school walkout, I love you, if you walkout that school, walkout my house…we are not a family that jumps on every single thing an ally of ours does because some stuff we just don’t agree with,” he told show host Colion Noir. “We are raising a generation of kids where everyone gets a trophy. But in real life, everyone don’t get a trophy. In real life, the cops don’t come on time. In real life, depending on where you live, you’re not gonna have the time to try to logic your way out of something.”

  • Mike, a former Bernie Sanders presidential surrogate, is known to make his opinions heard, and usually, #BlackTwitter is behind him. Perhaps it was this comment that got them most heated: “You’re not woke! You can’t continue to be the lackey,” he said during the interview. “You’re a lackey of the progressive movement, because you’ve never disagreed with the people who tell you what to do.”

Here's the flames that ignited his mentions...

  • Killer Mike tried to defend his appearance on NRA TV, which is consuming his full timeline as we speak. Fellow rappers like Vic Mensa even offered to debate him about his stances.

  • Hundreds of March For Our Lives demonstrations took place all across America today (March 24) to protest gun violence with protesters, activists, and celebrities all coming together for the cause. So much for honoring their fight.
