50 Cent Takes A Jab At Demetrius Flenory Jr. After ‘BMF’ Gets Canceled
Deadline confirmed on Wednesday (October 29) that Starz series, “BMF,” has officially been cancelled, and 50 Cent, who executive produced the series, isn’t holding back any playful jabs at series star Demetrius Flenory Jr.
In an Instagram post, the “21 Questions” rapper posted a photo, seemingly AI-generated,” of Flenory with an “Out Of Work” sign.
“What next season?” the 50-year-old captioned on the post.
According to reports from Complex, there have been issues behind the scenes between Flenory’s father, Big Meech, and the “Get Rich Or Die Trying” star due to Meech’s affiliation with 50’s longtime rival, Rick Ross.
The photo seemed to spark a post from the former G-Unit member, alluding to a documentary in development with federal informant Tammy Cowins, who also served as a producer on “BMF.”
“The biggest mistake he ever made was not sustaining his relationship with (Tammy Cowin). Her tell-all docu reveals the truth,” he wrote in the caption, seemingly calling Meech a “snitch.”
According to Deadline, multiple sources reported that the feud caused “anxiety” on the sets of its third and fourth seasons.
The series received positive reviews from the network, with discussions about a fifth season underway due to the series' strong performance.
Deadline reports that the possible reason for the series cancellation could be Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch's strategy to manage content costs by developing more new series rather than sustaining existing ones, as they become more expensive.
Despite the series being cancelled, TMZ reports that the creator of “Power” still owns the rights to the franchise and has mentioned the potential for multiple spin-offs launching within the “BMF” universe.
The entrepreneur is also set to debut a new series on the STARZ network entitled “Fightland,” Deadline reported.
“Fightland marks my first internationally produced show through my G-Unit Film & Television. I am excited to bring that global energy to the screen,” said the mogul.
The network has ordered eight episodes of the crime drama, with production slated to begin this fall in London.
