Doechii Shares 'Denial Is a River' Trailer, Co-Starring ScHoolboy Q, Teezo Touchdown, Baby Tate and More
Doechii’s turning up the heat on her Grammy Awards campaign.
These past few weeks have been massive for the rapper, as she performed a show-stopping Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival 2024 set and made her NPR Tiny Desk Concerts debut. On Thursday (December 26), Doechii announced that on January 2, 2025, she’s unveiling a “show” dedicated to her “Alligator Bites Never Heal” track “Denial Is a River.”
Appearing in the trailer were fellow artists ScHoolboy Q, Teezo Touchdown, Baby Tate, Earl Sweatshirt, SiR, along with internet personalities Zack Fox and Rickey Thompson, in addition to Doechii’s DJ, DJ Miss Milan. The “Denial Is a River” teaser has a throwback sitcom feel similar to former shows “Family Matters” and “Full House,” so the show is sure to match its hype.
As Sweatshirt is credited as Brad Pitt in the trailer, on X, the Swamp Princess joked, “It wasn’t easy convincing Brad Pitt to play Earl Sweatshirt but the princess gon get it done.”
At the 2025 Grammy Awards, which airs live on February 2, 2025, Doechii’s up for her first nominations, including Best Rap Performance (“Nissan Altima”), Best Rap Album (“Alligator Bites Never Heal”), and the coveted Best New Artist.
Last month, Doechii visited her alma mater, Tampa’s Howard W. Blake High School, and thanked the school for shaping her into the Grammy-nominated artist she is today.
“4X Grammy nominated and I give a major part of that to Blake High-school and my mommy for enrolling me ! STING 🐝,” she wrote in the caption.
