Cardi B Gives Big Girl’s Girl Energy as Megan Thee Stallion Takes Her Final Broadway Bow
Cardi B is showing exactly why she stays in the conversation when folks talk about a real girl’s girl.
The rapper pulled up to support fellow rapstress Megan Thee Stallion at her final performance in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” and made sure the grand closing got the love it deserved. The two reunited backstage after the show, with Kandi Burruss sharing photos of the occasion, and Cardi later hopped on Instagram Live to gush over Megan’s performance. “I went to see Meg on Broadway,” Cardi said, adding that it was “so, so, so good” and that “Megan did amazing.”
One thing about Cardi, she’s going to show support. What’s even more amazing is that Megan made history with her Broadway debut. She became the first female-identifying performer to play Harold Zidler in any production of “Moulin Rouge!,’ although her run ended earlier than planned after she announced she would exit the show on May 1.
Cardi, who has long been publicly aligned with Megan through their chart-topping collaborations and mutual support, made it clear she wanted to be there for her friend’s milestone.
Cardi also spoke like somebody who genuinely wanted Megan to win in real life, not just online. She said she had promised Megan she would come see her in the musical, adding, “I hope she does it again.” In a culture that loves pitting women in hip-hop against one another, Cardi keeps showing that there is room for everybody to shine, and she’s usually going to be the first one clapping.
