Toni Braxton and Birdman Secretly Wed Last Year
Toni Braxton and Birdman’s real-life love story might rival any R&B ballad the singer has ever sung.
According to newly surfaced legal documents obtained by TMZ, the Grammy Award-winning singer married the Cash Money Records boss on August 8, 2024. The longtime couple reportedly exchanged vows privately, keeping their nuptials under wraps.
However, days later, the “Un-Break My Heart” songstress appeared to have a change of heart and filed for divorce two weeks later, listing their separation date as August 10. In the court doc, the star described the marriage as “irretrievably broken.”
Fast-forward to January 2025. Braxton dismissed her petition, with Birdman signing off, too. The outlet noted that as of April, the couple is still married.
Fans of the duo may recall back in 2017 when rumors swirled that the entertainers had secretly eloped—only for Braxton’s rep to shut down reports.
Birdman officially proposed in 2018, with Braxton later sharing behind-the-scenes moments from their engagement night on Instagram. “A couple min before we got engaged… Then 24hrs after,” the singer captioned the photos at the time.
While neither star has publicly commented on their brief split or decision to stay together, court documents suggest the couple is trying to work things out.
