Rihanna and Baby Rocki Star in W Magazine's Pop Issue
Rihanna has made many covers in her career. None of them came with a co-star dressed in a custom Dior Haute Couture diaper.
W magazine's Pop Issue, photographed by Tim Walker and styled by Jahleel Weaver, marks the first official public appearance of Rocki Irish Mayers, Rihanna's daughter with A$AP Rocky. Rocki, who was born on September 13, 2025, appears alongside her mother on the cover of the issue — dressed in a Dior Haute Couture diaper and headpiece that designer Jonathan Anderson created specifically for her. As BET.com previously reported, Rocki's Dior debut was already the talk of the internet before this cover.
The issue brings together a constellation of people who have shared in Rihanna's orbit over the years — friends, collaborators, and legends asked to reflect on what it actually looks like to be Rihanna up close. The picture that emerges, per W magazine, is of an artist who has been "true to herself" every step of the way.
What the People Said
A$AP Rocky offered the most intimate portrait. "She has changed a lot because she became a mother in that time span, and that certainly changes you. But this woman has always been magic. Philosophically, the way she operates is on another level."
SZA, Mariah Carey, and Mary J. Blige are among the contributors to the issue. The feature also includes reflection from longtime collaborators on her evolution as an artist, mogul, and mother across nearly 25 years in the public eye.
The Context
The W cover is more than a fashion moment. As BET has covered extensively, Rihanna has spent the past several years redefining what a pop star's presence looks like — through Fenty Beauty, Savage x Fenty, her LVMH partnership, and her role as the first Black woman to headline a Super Bowl halftime show. She revealed her second pregnancy to 121 million viewers in 2023 while performing on a suspended platform, and her maternity style across all three pregnancies became a cultural conversation in itself.
Rocki is Rihanna and Rocky's third child, joining sons RZA Athelston Mayers, 3, and Riot Rose Mayers, 2. The W Pop Issue is available now.
