At this year’s Midsummer Class, several Black MLB All-Stars are set to display their undeniable talent, electrifying the crowd with their power, speed, and defensive brilliance. From established veterans who bring years of dominance to rising young phenoms seeking to make their mark, these players represent the vibrant and evolving landscape of Major League Baseball. Without question, performances will undoubtedly be a highlight of the All-Star festivities, showcasing the bright future of the sport and the rich legacy of Black excellence in baseball. Here are the top Black MLB All-Stars that you don’t want to miss.


Aaron Judge (New York Yankees, Outfield Starter)

Making his seventh career All-Star game, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge led all players in votes during the first phase of fan balloting, securing his starting position. In another banner year, Judge is batting 354, with 34 home runs, 79 RBIs, and a .725 Slugging Percentage. Recently, he hit his 350th career home run, becoming the quickest player in MLB history to reach that milestone in just 1,088 games.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. (New York Yankees, Infield Reserve)

New York Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. is putting together a fantastic campaign in his first full season with the Bronx Bombers after being traded from the Miami Marlins last year. He has appeared in 63 games, batting .251 with 17 home runs and 43 RBIs. He also has 10 stolen bases. He will also be a participant in the 2025 Home Run Derby.

Byron Buxton (Minnesota Twins, Outfield Reserve)

Byron Buxton, a dynamic center fielder for the Minnesota Twins, brings an electrifying combination of power, speed, and elite defense. In 74 games this season, Buxton is batting 270, with 20 home runs, 53 RBIs, and 17 stolen bases in 17 attempts. His on-base percentage is .335, and his slugging percentage is .544, leading to an OPS of .879. On July 12, Buxton hit for the cycle (When a batter gets a single, a double, a triple, and a home run in the same game).

Riley Greene (Detroit Tigers, Outfield Starter)

Riley Greene has led the Detroit Tigers to the best record in the American League with his offensive prowess and stout defense. He’s batting .282 with 23 home runs and 77 RBIs. His .869 OPS also placed him among the league leaders. He was selected as an All-Star for the second consecutive year, where he’ll be a starting outfielder. With his impeccable play, Greene is poised to be one of the next stars in the game.

James Wood (Washington Nationals, Outfield Reserve)

With a lethal combination of size, power, and surprising athleticism, James Wood, the Washington Nationals' left fielder, will make his first appearance in the All-Star game.  Standing 6-foot-7 and weighing 234 pounds, he's one of the tallest position players in MLB. Batting .278 with 24 home runs, 69 RBIs, and 59 runs scored. He also stole 12 bases. At 22, Wood is well on his way to becoming the newest superstar of MLB.
