Both Jones and Mitchell, posted a photo on social media sharing a kiss in the sunlight—it was a golden hour in so many ways.
“You,” a Mitchell-inspired track from Coco Jones’ debut album “Why Not More?” accompanied her post.
Donovan Mitchell posted a video capturing the moment when the NBA star knelt and asked the actress for her hand in marriage.
Jones appeared on Club Shay Shay in March and confirmed the relationship. The Grammy-winning singer and the Cleveland Cavaliers star had been dating for over a year, but kept their love private. On the episode, Coco shared that she did not prefer secrets but that she did opt for privacy.
“Secrecy is not what I prefer. I don’t want to feel like I have to be somebody secret. I don’t want to make anybody feel like they’re mine. For me, I’m trying to protect myself, and I’m trying to protect my family and who I love, so I am more private.”
After their engagement announcement, the couple received messages from Ciara, Angel Reese, Jaylen Brown and many more expressed congratulatory wishes for the newly engaged couple, according to Billboard.
