Metro Boomin Is Coming At A 'Shady' Record Label For Stealing Producers Souls

"They basically just want to slave you and steal your music to make hits."

Metro Boomin fired shots at a major music label on Twitter over the mistreatment of producers. While the topic has always been an undercover issue within the music industry, the 24-year-old hitmaker is making sure his fellow producers know not to go down that dark path of destruction.

The Twitter rant began after Metro posted a screenshot of a text message conversation, which seemed to show a person attempting to solicit beats from unsigned producers. Upset by the message, Metro responded with a PSA calling out none other than Atlantic Records. “PSA to producers everywhere, don't let @AtlanticRecords steal your soul,” he tweeted.

While some of his fans questioned what he was talking about, the producer followed up his initial statement, accusing a man by the name of Mike Caren and Atlantic’s APG (Artist Partners Group and/or Artist Publishing Group) division of playing “by their own rules.” “What I said about Atlantic was directed at Mike Caren and the APG division who deals directly with producers and songwriters… stay away from APG,” he warned.

But apparently Metro isn’t the only one who feels this way. Mike Will Made-It also joined the digital discussion to back up his colleague’s claims. “Factual, Caron looked 2012 Mike Will in the eyes after hearing my whole catalog and said you don't have ANY hits but we can help u wit that,” the producer claimed. Young Thug’s right hand man, London On Da Track, also chimed in to reaffirm the others.

Despite his harsh comments, Metro Boomin assured fans that he isn't entirely anti-record labels. He just wants people to watch their backs. “I’m not against major labels at all let that be clear,” he said. “APG is just evil… They basically just want to slave you and steal your music to make hits.”
