Simone Ledward Boseman Opens Up About Her Love For Chadwick Boseman In An Interview With Whoopi Goldberg: “I Was So Lucky To Love This Person”

She shares how she kept Chadwick’s illness private before his untimely passing.

As fans worldwide anticipate seeing Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and honor Chadwick Boseman’s contributions to the franchise, his wife Simone Ledward Boseman sat down with Whoopi Goldberg in an interview and expressed how “lucky” she was to love her late husband in a teaser clip.

“I can’t believe I was so lucky to love this person and he got to love me, too,” the widow explained before a clip of Boseman playing where the couple could be seen sharing a moment of being in love.

She also let Goldberg know it has been a “challenging” two years- especially about how she and Boseman kept their circle “like a dot” while he was dealing with illness during the time when COVID quarantine mandates kept people inside.

Many of Boseman’s peers have admitted struggling with the actor’s loss, with Ryan Coogler revealing how he “wanted to stop producing movies” after the actor’s death.

"I was at a point when I was like, 'I'm walking away from this business. I didn't know if I could make another movie, period, [let alone] another Black Panther movie, because it hurt a lot. I was like, 'Man, how could I open myself up to feeling like this again?'" he told Entertainment Weekly.

"I was pouring over a lot of our conversations that we had towards what I realized was the end of his life. I decided that it made more sense to keep going."
