In honor of the untimely passing of Trugoy The Dove earlier this month, De La Soul is announcing The DA.I.S.Y. Experience, which is slated to take place Thursday (March 2) at New York City’s Webster Hall.
According to a press release, Posdnuos and Maseo, along with others, will put on the event that will “celebrate the life and legacy of the late David ‘Trugoy The Dove’ Jolicoeur and the influence and impact of De La Soul.”
DA.I.S.Y., an acronym for “Da Inner Sound Y’all”, is a familiar one for fans of the pioneering hip-hop trio. The release states that the “immersive activation” will transfer Webster Hall into a De La destination utilizing artwork from their classic debut 3 Feet High and Rising. On Friday, the group’s music will finally hit streaming services.
In conjunction with Amazon Music, The DA.I.S.Y. Experience will also feature sounds from The Originals; DJs Stretch Armstrong, Rich Medina, Clark Kent, and Tony Touch, who will curate sets paying homage to De La Soul.
Those unable to attend the event will be able to watch the DJing sets on Maseo’s Twitch Channel beginning at 8 p.m. EST. Both he and Pos will be in the building.
