Survivors Of The Douglas HS Shooting Drag Tomi Lahren For Tweeting "This Isn't About A Gun" Right After The Attack

"I was hiding in a closet for two hours, it was about guns."

After the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, extreme conservative Tomi Lahren took to Twitter in an attempt to bash people for talking about gun control immediately after the attack. Although Lahren's Twitter rants are nothing new, this time she got a response from the survivors of the shooting she discussed.

  • In a tweet, Lahren accused the left of not letting families grieve and said "this isn't about a gun it's about another lunatic"

  • One survivor, Carly Novell, tweeted back to Lahren and said she was hiding in a closet "because of guns"

  • Another student said the tragedy could have been prevented

  • After Novell's tweet went viral, she spoke to CNN's Don Lemon and revealed she and her classmates were discussing gun control while they were hiding

  • To further challenge Lahren's tweet, a woman whose sister survived the Virginia Tech shooting asked if enough time has passed for them to discuss gun reform

  • Lahren was also bashed by people who felt her tweet was inappropriate and insensitive
