FBI Raids Fulton County Election Office Over 2020 Election Results

‘I suspect today's raid is a continuation of this sore loser's crusade,’ said one lawmaker after agents swarmed the Fulton County office.

FBI agents raided Fulton County's elections office in Georgia on Wednesday, hauling away boxes of 2020 ballots as part of a federal probe into possible election law violations.

The dramatic search at the county's operations center targeted records from the 2020 presidential race, with agents loading up what Sen. Josh McLaurin described as around “700 boxes,” according to CBS News.

This Atlanta hotspot is a known Democratic stronghold, and it’s been under scrutiny for years by republicans over unproven fraud claims that flipped the state's narrow results.

A search warrant, signed by U.S. magistrate judge Catherine Salinas, zeroed in on two federal crimes: intimidating voters through fake ballots or registrations, and failing to keep election records for the required 22 months.

Fulton officials confirmed the FBI's action but stressed they were cooperating while filming the inventory for chain-of-custody.

Deputy FBI Director Andrew Bailey and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard also showed up on-site, though a planned news conference got scrapped.

Local leaders pushed back hard—County Commission Chair Robb Pitts worried aloud that the ballots' security was now in question, and Democratic lawmakers called it a pointless revisit of a long-audited and lost election.

"I suspect today's raid is a continuation of this sore loser's crusade, despite repeated audits and independent reviews,” said Senator Jon Ossoff in a statement.

The FBI remained tight-lipped, citing an ongoing investigation, while the Justice Department had already sued the county clerk, Che Alexander, last month for those same records.

For many, this feels like déjà vu: another deep dive into 2020's election chaos, raising fresh doubts about how secure our democracy really is.

Critics say it's intimidation tactics ahead of future races, but feds insist it's about enforcing the law.
