Morris Chestnut, Tonya Lewis Lee Join American Black Film Festival

The fest moves its home to New York City starting next year.

The American Black Film Festival is moving to New York City next year, and it's getting a very special welcome from Morris Chestnut and Tonya Lewis Lee. The actor and producer have come aboard the festival as Celebrity Ambassador and Host Committee Chair, respectively.

“It’s an honor and privilege to be the ambassador of the ABFF, taking place this year in New York — a city that has inspired and cultivated so much great talent in all areas of film,” says Chestnut.

“Morris Chestnut is a beloved and charismatic actor,” adds Jeff Friday, ABFF founder. “The role of the ABFF Ambassador is to broaden public awareness of the festival as well as its mission, and you are about to see Morris everywhere with this week’s release ofThe Best Man Holiday — a must-see! I deeply appreciate both Morris and Tonya’s commitment to advance opportunities for Black artists in our industry.”
Lee, while best known as the wife of iconic filmmaker Spike Lee, is an accomplished producer in her own right. She most recently produced the television movie The Watsons Go to Birmingham.
ABFF runs from June 19-22, 2014 in New York City.
