Megan Thee Stallion Responds to Met Gala Ban Rumors
Megan Thee Stallion is clearing the air and shutting down any doubt about her Met Gala status.
After sharing behind-the-scenes footage from inside this year’s Met Gala, the “Mamushi” rapper sparked speculations that she’d violated the event’s strict no-phone policy and had been blacklisted as a result.
However, during a recent interview, the Houston native set the record, telling PEOPLE, “No. We’re gonna dead these rumors right now, OK?”
“People are like, ‘Oh my God, Megan, you got banned from the Met Gala.’ No, I didn’t, babe. Like, that’s not true,” the rapper declared.
Megan doubled down on the denial, adding with a smile, “Y’all made that up and ran with it. They love making [stuff] up. Anna [Wintour] loves me, babe. That’s why my phone was out.”
During fashion’s biggest night, Megan posted videos on Instagram that showed her, Doechii, and WNBA star Angel Reese trying food inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
“We’re not supposed to have our phones, but we’re doing it [anyway],” the rapper said at the time.
Still, the Hot Girl coach wasn’t the only celeb bending the rules. Bathroom selfies from Laura Harrier and Lewis Hamilton also made the rounds online, featuring stars like Quinta Brunson, Colman Domingo, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Caleb McLaughlin.
