Afrika Bambaataa Adresses Molestation Allegations in Televised Interview

He denies everything.

The hip-hop community was really taken aback after founding father Afrika Bambaataa fielded allegations of sexual misconduct with numerous underage males.

He’s already been stripped of his leadership title in the famed Zulu Nation and things only seem to be getting worse for him. Recently sitting down with New York’s Fox 5, the Bronx native gave his side of the story and says all the allegations are false.

"I never abused nobody. You know, it just sounds crazy to people to say that, hear 'you abused me,'" he said in response to the accusations. "You know my thing is you know all my people back then, you know the hundreds of people that been around me. If something like that happened, why you never went to none of them?"

Bambaataa (born Kevin Donovan) also claims he doesn’t know where the motivation for the accusations are coming from and questions why, if all of this happened, did no one do anything about it until now.

"What is the motivation? What is the agenda?" he asked. "It's hard to say. You don't know what many of these people are thinking. What is behind it. Some parts are saying it could be shakeups. Certain things people might have wanted."

The swarm of sexual molestation accusations surrounding Afrika Bambaataa began when Ronald Savage, a former member of the New York State Democratic Committee, came forward claiming that the “Planet Rock” emcee sexually abused him as a teenager. Afterward, numerous other people came forward with similar recollections of their own personal experiences with Bambaataa. Savage said he met Bambaataa when he was 12 or 13, which was when the misconduct began.
