GNX Just Made History—and Kendrick’s Not Done Yet
Kendrick Lamar’s GNX is officially in the history books. The album just became the longest-running No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Rap Albums chart, holding down the top spot for 22 weeks. That’s one week longer than Pop Smoke’s “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon,” which previously led the chart for 21 weeks.
Since its surprise drop, “GNX” has sparked conversation, moved culture, and refused to let up. It recently picked up Album of the Year at the 2025 BET Awards and is gaining serious momentum heading into Grammy season. Could this be the album that snags him his 18th win?
When Kendrick stepped on stage at the awards show in June, it marked a rare appearance—and a reminder of why his presence still hits so hard. “I ain’t been here in a long time, but I always kept it in my heart,” he told the crowd. “BET always make sure that they representing the culture right... real, true, down-to-earth music that people can feel.”
“GNX” has done more than dominate charts. It’s become a moment. As it continues its run, Kendrick is showing once again that when he drops, it’s more than music—it’s a cultural movement.
The “Grand National Tour” is also breaking records of its own. Kendrick and SZA have raked in approximately $256.6 million from the 23 North American shows, making it the highest-grossing joint tour in history. With over 1.1 million tickets sold and more stops ahead in Europe, Australia, and South America, his run is far from over!
