SZA Inspires Fan To Dedicate College Degree To Her
SZA’s influence continues to appear in unexpected places.
In August, a TikTok user uploaded her graduation photos and revealed that she leaned on the singer’s artistry throughout college, proudly dedicating her award to her.
The TikToker, who goes by the username thahhgirl_beldy, captioned in her post:
“I dedicate my BSc Nursing degree to Solana Imani Rowe known professionally as SZA – whose art reminded me that healing starts within.”
The “Good Days” singer caught wind and reposted on her Instagram story with a congratulatory message.
“Just wanted to congratulate this amazing queen,” the Grammy Award winner wrote. “So proud of u.”
The 35-year-old has been putting in that work, as Billboard reported that her tour with Kendrick Lamar, dubbed The Grand National Tour, broke a record for being the biggest co-billed tour in Boxscore history. The tour went on to generate $256.4 million and sold 1.1 million tickets.
The tour kicked off on April 19 in Minneapolis and then hit 18 more cities in the United States and Canada. The tour was used to promote Lamar’s album, “GNX,” which was released on November 22, 2019.
The duo also made a huge moment this year, performing at the Super Bowl, where they performed “All the Stars” and “Luther.”
She most recently shared the stage with Mariah Carey for an episode of “Flowers,” distributed by Apple Music, with Carey sharing how she wants her collaboration with the “Saturn” artist to sound like her record, “Underneath The Stars,” a record off of the “Obsessed” artist album, “Daydream,” Billboard reports.
