Sexyy Red Says She Was Detained By Law Enforcement In Mexico

The St. Louis rapper shared her encounter with police on her Instagram stories.

While making appearances in Mexico over the weekend, Sexyy Red said she was stopped at the country’s border and then tailed by law enforcement officials, Complex reports.

On Sunday (March 17), Sexyy Red shared her experiences on her Instagram stories saying she was stopped because she was wearing too much jewelry.

“We’ve been stuck at the border all day. I had too much bands on me, they couldn’t handle that shit,” Sexyy said.

 “Too much jewelry on me, they couldn’t handle that shit. Had a fur coat on, they wasn’t f**king with your girl. They told me I look like Griselda Blanco,” she added.

She continued, “Y’all h*es can’t say y’all went to Mexico and had to get stopped at the border ’cause y’all had them f**king racks on y’all, ’cause I had jewelry on y’all. Y’all hoes can’t say that. Too many buckers. Where my fingers at?”

Sexyy Red then went on to thank her fans who waited for her to perform after the incident.

 “Y’all was lit up, on god,” according toHipHopDX. “Took us hella hours at the border, they still waited on me. It’s 3 o’clock. They just now leaving the club, period. They f**k with a real bitch, and I f**k with them for fucking with me.”

Despite the incident at the border, Sexyy Red has much to celebrate after giving birth to her second child in February. In an interview with Billboard, she explained how she navigated her pregnancy while continuing to travel as one of the biggest names in rap music.

“Being pregnant is stressful; it wears your body down. I was tired, but I tried to hide it as much as you possibly could. I like to have a personal life,” she said. “ I’m already famous or whatever, so everything be out there. I be trying to have something to myself that I could keep. Just go home and be with my son and my family. That’s the reason I was hiding.”
