65th Annual Grammy Awards: 5 Quintessential Songs By Post Malone

The platinum-selling rapper is nominated for 'Best Pop Duo/Group Performance' for his "I Like You (A Happier Song)" collab with Doja Cat.

The 2023 Grammy Awards ceremony is fast-approaching, and in preparation for this year’s big event, we’re getting folks geared up and ready for their favorite artists to take home some hardware.

It’s music that ties everyone together, and sometimes, you just need a little trip down memory lane in remembrance of why those nominated are so talented. For us, it’s just putting together a little tribute to those who get us through the daily grind or are a point of relaxation when chillin’ around the crib or riding around in the whip.

While not up for much this year, Post Malone is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for his "I Like You (A Happier Song)" collaboration with Doja Cat.

To commemorate, BET.com has compiled five quintessential songs by Post Malone (see below).

  • “Psycho (feat. Ty Dolla Sign)” (2018)

A beerbongs & bentleys mega-hit, “Psycho” is definitely a showcase of Post’s talents, but it’s Ty Dolla Sign’s ability to crush his featured appearance that had the Dallas rapper step his own game up. Together, they created one of the standouts on his sophomore studio album.

  • "Congratulations (feat. Quavo)” (2017)

From his debut album Stoney, “Congratulations” is one of Post’s most-recognizable hits to-date. The song is a motivational one that celebrates anyone who accomplishes their goals after so many told them they couldn’t. Malone himself is definitely an example of someone who defied his haters to become a huge name in the music world.

  • “Rockstar (feat. 21 Savage)” (2017)

It’s hard to escape the incredibly melodic hook on “Rockstar” and 21 Savage’s feature on the track doesn’t hurt its quality. The song could also be considered an ushering in of Post’s transition from a more hip-hop focus to that of numerous genres, including rock n roll, country and more.

  • “Circles” (2019)

Via Post’s Hollywood’s Bleeding album, the song portrays the rapper in a rarer, more upbeat mood as he reflects on a failed relationship and the pitfalls of going around in circles with your emotions during the early period of a breakup and its lasting effects.

  • “White Iverson” (2015)

The hit that started it all for Post, “White Iverson” was inspired by the rapper’s own cornrows that he was wearing at the time, which he said made him feel like a caucasian version of Allen Iverson, who is “Ballin” all over his haters. To this day, that fact remains as Post has been able to rack up millions in album sales and attain numerous accolades, including a 2023 Grammy nod.
