Kim Kardashian Makes Doobie Wraps Into the Next 'Boxer Braids'

Uh-oh.

Recently, Kim Kardashian stepped out for date night with Kanye West sporting a cream sweater dress, plush overcoat and a... err... um... doobie. Doobie wraps have long been a part of Caribbean culture. The protective style is meant to keep your fresh blowout intact while you sleep, hang around the house or do whatever, but is NEVER to be worn outside the house. That’s like doobie 101. A lot of folks on social media who are filled in on doobie protocol are calling out the star for it and even accusing her of cultural appropriation.

Now, is Mrs. West starting some kind of trend? No. (Like we said, doobies have been a thing.) Is she the first celebrity to step out the house like this? No. (Hello, Rihanna circa 2013 AMAs.) Actually, she joins a few celebs who have been sporting the style out and about.

Hopefully her girl Lala Anthony, spotted here repping her Puerto Rican roots, filled her in on the style’s origins.

Draya Michele, like Kim, sports a low-bun in the back. This is not a conventional doobie wrap but still, a similar concept.

The original bad gal shocked us all when she sported her bobby pin-clad wrap on the red carpet. But since when has RiRi been one to follow the rules.

Perhaps Kim’s practicing for when North West needs help getting her edges extra smooth. Whatever the case is, if the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is wearing it, then Kardashian-Jenner obsessed fans are sure to follow. So consider yourself fully warned on the copious amount of young girls rocking doobies like nobody’s business that are about to fill your feed.
