“I got to see my dad die on national TV.”

Erica Garner recalled the tragic death of her father Eric Garner at the hands of a police officer that choked him as he pleaded “I can’t breathe” in a 30-second recut version of a Bernie Sanders ad that was first released in January.

The ad includes images of a 21-year-old Sanders, who was a student at the University of Chicago at the time, being cuffed and arrested during a protest for civil rights in 1963.

“People are dying,” Erica added. “We need a president that’s gonna talk about it.”
