Vanessa Williams Is Married
Vanessa Williams saved the best for last. The actress, singer and former beauty queen tied the knot with accountant Jim Skrip on the 4th of July, her rep has confirmed. The couple, who met in Egypt in 2013, were married in New York.
"Road trip for the holiday weekend," the new bride tweeted just two days before tying the knot. "Happy 4th."
Williams revealed her engagement on The Queen Latifah Show last September. "I got engaged," she said, while showing off her beautiful diamond. "I have had a lot of good things happen. I turned 50 when we were in rehearsal [for Trip to Bountiful] on Broadway, I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago. It has been a lot of blessings on this trip."
She later told Philly.com of meeting her now husband in the Middle Eastern country, "You go across the world to find somebody who's six hours away."
This is Williams' third marriage. From 1987 until 1997 she was married to Ramon Hervey, with whom she shares daughters Melanie, 28, and Jillian, 26, and son Devin, 22. She and NBA player Rick Fox split in 2005 after six years of marriage, and share daughter Sasha, 15.
