Report: Bobby Shmurda Sentenced to Four Years for Prison Contraband

He pled guilty back in February.

Bobby Shmurda has reportedly been sentenced to four years in prison as a result of pleading guilty in his prison contraband case earlier this year.

As reported, the incident took place in July 2015 with the Brooklyn rapper allegedly receiving a "sharpened metal instrument" during a jail visit from his girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau.

Shmurda was being held at New York's Rikers Island prison at the time for charges stemming from his 2014 arrest.

In December 2016, the rapper was offered a plea deal, which he accepted back in February of this year.

As part of the agreement, he found himself looking at one to four years, as opposed to facing seven years if convicted, and now with the case's official sentencing he reportedly received the maximum amount of time under the plea deal.

According to reports, Shmurda will serve the time concurrently with his sentence for conspiracy and weapons possession, which has already started.

Additionally, his other charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal. Shmurda also was given credit for the time he already has served.
