The Office Of Michael Jackson's Doctor Raided

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) raided the office of Michael Jackson’s former doctor today, according to a report on gossip Web site TMZ.

Dr. Conrad Murray’s office in Houston was the target of the DEA raid. The authorities are reportedly looking for medical records regarding the recently deceased Jackson.

According to reports, the DEA is working in conjunction with the Los Angeles Police Department to conduct the operation.

Murray’s attorney, Edward Chernoff released a statement today, which appeared on TMZ, attempting to clarify the need for the raid and believes the findings will exonerate his client of any wrong doing.

The coroner wants to clear up the cause of death; we share that goal,” Chernoff stated. “Based on Dr. Murray's minute-by-minute and item-by-item description of Michael Jackson's last days, he should not be a target of criminal charges.

Dr. Murray became the subject of media attention shortly after Jackson’s death. He was the doctor present when Jackson went into cardiac arrest and attempted CPR to revive the singer. Murray was also the target of additional scrutiny when allegations began to surface that Jackson was abusing prescription drugs and may have died of an overdose.

The coroner has not released a final ruling on Jackson’s untimely death.
