Taraji P. Henson Says Popularity Makes Dating Harder
You’d think that celebrities would have no shortage of suitors and have to beat them off with a stick, but Taraji P. Henson is here to say that is so not the case. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 44-year-old Empire actress said that as her star has been rising, the pickings have become slimmer.
"I think the more successful you get, the more intimidated [men] get. They pull away because they feel I’m not approachable," she said. "Or they're afraid to approach me."
Henson seems totally down to earth and like the straightforward bestie we all wish we had, but maybe the fellas are scared she’s as over the top as her on-screen alter ego, Cookie Lyon. But Henson isn’t letting her single status keep her from getting what she really needs. After a scary stint at the hospital for overexerting herself, Henson has learned the importance of relaxation.
“When I have days off, I just don’t do anything,” she said. “I stay home. I have things delivered, and I just chill.”
