Two More Accusers Added to Sexual-Battery Suit Against Smokey Robinson

Plaintiffs moved to amend the complaint to include a woman and a man who allege repeated forced contact; Robinson and his attorneys deny the new claims.

There is a growing list of sexual-battery accusers against legend Smokey Robinson

Two new accusers have come forward with sexual battery claims against the 85-year-old Robinson, six months after four women who once worked with the singer filed a $50 million sexual assault lawsuit against him

The women, who sued anonymously in May, filed a motion on Nov. 14 asking to amend their existing complaint to include a new woman and man who both allege Robinson tried to force them to touch his erect penis. Robinson and his attorneys have denied the new allegations.

According to the proposed amendment complaint obtained by People, one of the new accusers (Jane Doe 5), worked as a housekeeper for Robinson intermittently from 2005-2011. The motion says Robinson “grabbed her hand and tried to force her to touch his erect penis more than 10 times” and claims he would also ask her to enter the bathroom while he was showering and ask her to scrub his back. The motion also alleges he touched her breasts repeatedly.

The filing adds that the alleged harassment was “constant” and that the trauma led to the accuser getting breast-reduction surgery in 2015. The filing further includes an accusation against Robinson’s wife, Frances Gladney, of fostering a “hostile work environment” and using “ethnically pejorative" language.

Plaintiffs’ attorney, John Harris praised the new filings, saying, “We commend these two courageous survivors for stepping forward and adding their voices to this case. We look forward to advocating for them vigorously as they pursue the justice they deserve.”

John Doe 1 alleges in the new motion that he began working for the Robinsons doing detail work on their cars in 2013. He claims that Robinson “touch[ed] and fondle[d]” his erect penis in front of him “numerous” times, and also tried to force him to touch his penis in 2022.

Robinson’s lawyer, Christopher Frost, pushed back forcefully, calling the suit an “organized, avaricious campaign to extract money from an 85-year-old legend.”

The motion asks the court to allow an amended complaint. A hearing is set for Jan. 6, 2026. The broader case — which began in May when four women filed an anonymous $50 million lawsuit — has already prompted Robinson to file a $500 million defamation countersuit and a separate motion to strike the initial complaint. A judge has allowed the accusers to remain anonymous and a trial is scheduled for Oct. 2027.

“This group of people, who hide behind anonymity, and their attorneys seek global publicity while making the ugliest of false allegations,” Frost said. “Once the public can see the truth, their avaricious motives and fabricated claims will be revealed.”
