Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is in talks to star in Snitch, an action thriller. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project has been in development for a while and the latest version was picked up by Exclusive Media.

The script is about a suburban father who is devastated when his teen son is sentenced to 30 years based on mandatory minimum drug charges. The father, desperate to reduce his son’s sentence, goes undercover to get the dirt and eventually snitches on a top drug dealer.

This story is based on a PBS Frontline documentary with the same title. Exclusive Media is eyeing June for the start of production.
