Raven-Symoné And Miranda Pearman-Maday Talk Relationship NDA

"We respect each other, we're besties first and foremost,” said the former Disney star.

Raven-Symoné and wife Miranda Pearman-Maday, who have been together since 2015, recently revealed details about a non-disclosure agreement during an interview with E! News.

The former Disney Channel star is well-known for roles on programs like The Cosby Show and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper. Then, at just 15, she starred as Raven Baxter in That's So Raven on Disney Channel, becoming one of the most popular Disney shows ever.

Back in 2015, Raven also co-hosted the talk show The View for a little over a year. She now stars in a reboot of That’s So Raven, called Raven’s Home, where she was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in Children's Programming.

Right before her stint on The View, Raven met her now wife at a karaoke bar, the duo revealed on The Tamron Hall Show. They went on to have an intimate backyard wedding back in June of 2020 where they revealed their relationship publicly for the first time via Instagram.

However, it wasn't easy getting there, as the actress wanted Pearman-Maday to sign an NDA for them to date, according to E News!  "She said, 'You gotta sign this,' and I said, 'Wow, that's really sad, I don't want to sign that,'" Pearman-Maday said. "Because it made me feel like everything in her life is basically this contractual agreement, even her love life. But then we had a talk about it and she was like, 'Listen, if you want to date me you have to sign this,'" said Miranda, adding that she knew Raven was ‘the one’ instantly.

As private as they've kept their relationship, ironically, Raven was the one to spill the beans on a May episode of the Howie Mandel Does Stuff Podcast, revealing, "I think I blacked out during that interview and then my wife was like, 'You told people we had an NDA?!'"

"We respect each other, we're besties first and foremost. We're lovers, we're business partners and we know that there is a common goal," shared Raven. "At the beginning of our relationship we had a conversation about what our life is going to look like and we both have really big ambitions when it comes to our careers."

The couple recently started their Best Podcast Ever project together.

Raven explained how using the podcast would support her new approach regarding the publicity surrounding the relationship. "There is an understanding that we are allowing the world into our relationship here and there, but we are crafting the narrative ourselves and not just letting a mag tell a story that we have no say in."
