6ix9ine Arrested For Assault In Dominican Republic Following Alleged Fight With Producer Over Girlfriend

The New York rapper reportedly attempted to board a plane back to the U.S.

6ix9ine was reportedly arrested last week while trying to board a plane from the Dominican Republic back to the United States.

Felix Portes, a criminal lawyer in the Caribbean country, says the New York rapper was arrested for an alleged assault of two producers over an incident involving his girlfriend.

An Instagram post made by Portes Friday (October 13) reveals that 6ix9ine was on “migration alert” and that his whereabouts are “unknown.”

"Trying to leave the country on a private plane, Tekashi 69 turned out to have MIGRATION ALERT," the attorney wrote. "His trip was aborted. The popular artist is on the run, his whereabouts unknown since there is an arrest warrant issued for beatings and injuries and threats."

Footage of the alleged incident shows a group of men entering a building before running off moments later.

This is just the latest legal issue for 6ix9ine. In August, he was arrested in Florida over outstanding traffic tickets that say he was driving over the speed limit. Page Six reports the rapper was pulled over in June for going 135 mph in a 65 mph zone.
